Coach Philip Donato

Founder & Technical Director – Emerging Stars Football Academy

Coach Philip Donato is the Founder and Head Coach of Emerging Stars Football Academy (ESFA), bringing more than 15 years of football experience and a strong passion for developing young players both on and off the field. Holding an AFC/Football Australia C Diploma, along with MiniRoos coaching accreditation, First Aid and a Working With Children Check, Philip has coached across community, academy and development environments. His experience includes coaching roles with Radford College, Belnorth FC, and Barça Academy Camps, and Fraser Park FC, where he will lead the U9s as Head Coach for the 2027 season.

Philip founded ESFA with a clear purpose: to provide young players with high-quality, personalised football development in a positive and supportive environment. His coaching philosophy focuses on building strong technical foundations through ball mastery, first touch, passing and receiving, 1v1 ability, attacking and defending, and game understanding. He believes every player develops differently, which is why ESFA training combines structured coaching with individual feedback and age-appropriate challenges.

Beyond technical ability, Philip places a strong emphasis on confidence, discipline, respect, sportsmanship and enjoyment. His goal is to help every player become more confident with the ball, understand the game and develop a genuine love for football.
